Organic. Most people have seen the word but don’t really understand the meaning behind it. A lot of times the nay-sayers will call it a hoax, and say its a waste of money.
I, for one have had quite the fun journey with switching to a mostly Organic diet, and feel it is very healthy, and good way of consuming your food.
3 years ago my father was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. Before that, I would buy organic if it was on sale, or the same price as regular. It wasn’t something I was overly into though. Just something I did on occasion if it made sense. As soon as my dad was diagnosed, I started researching intensively on an Organic Diet, as doctor’s had suggested it as a way to help get rid of the toxins he may be carrying in his body. He also (and me!) wanted to start juicing, and I realized if we are juicing, we need the BEST and highest quality produce for juicing. I realized the only way to get the toxins out of his body, and give it the strength it needed, was to get him on an Organic diet, as much as possible. After he started juicing, and incorporating a lot more healthy choices in his diet, he felt better! I think we all did. Even my dad is a believer in the power of Organics now!!
It was then I realized how difficult it can be to get the toxins out, if you’re juicing with non organic produce. Don’t get me wrong, if you can’t afford the high cost of Organic, that is fine! Eating healthy is really the main goal, and everyone has to do it differently!
Just for reference, when you’re eating Organic, you will be getting a significantly higher nutritional benefit. The soils that Organic produce is grown in gives a more beneficial place for it to grow compared to non-organic produce. On Non-Organic growing farms, they use cheap soils, in order to mass produce, and cut costs. Not just that, but the conventional growers spray pesticides and other harmful chemicals that simply make the produce grow at a much quicker, unnatural way, which in turn helps mass produce & lowers the nutritional content.
Once I switched to Organic I noticed a lot of changes. My skin is much clearer (not as terrible of acne), more energy, and truly just a piece of mind knowing the person who grew what I am eating really cared about what they are making, as opposed to how much. No, Organic produce isn't always the prettiest, or the most photogenic. But to me the benefits, and the knowledge outweigh anything that conventional produce could do for me; physically or mentally. I believe that the better quality you put in your body, the more your body will thrive.
I currently get my Organic Produce from Organic Fruits and Veggies - They are great and have such high quality, curated Organic items I have never been let down by them.
